Hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community
An FIR has been lodged against the actress-comedian at the Adampur police station in Jalandhar. The case was registered as a result of a complaint made by Jassi Tallan, the chief of the Ravidas Tiger Force. According to the FIR, in an old video, Bharti Singh mocked Sikhs by displaying instances of their moustaches and beards.
Section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code (deliberate and malicious conduct intended to stir religious feelings) is the alleged violation she committed. The old video of the comedian has become very popular. Bharti Singh is heard in the same video saying that when you drink milk and put your beard in your mouth, it tastes like sewaiyan.
