Pollution Level of Delhi decrease, AQI in 'poor' category | Key points
With the Lodhi Road (IITM) monitoring station recording an AQI of 95, which the CPCB defines as the “satisfactory” level, Delhi is finally seeing some green.
Since Sunday, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) has been slightly improving; on Monday morning, the pollution level fell below the 300-mark. The city’s pollution levels are now classified as “poor.”

According to the SAMEER app, which offers hourly updates on the National Air Quality Index, the Air Quality Index was at the “satisfactory” level at Lodhi Road on Monday at roughly 7:30 am, even though none of the 38 monitoring stations in Delhi registered AQI in the “severe” category.

Pollution Level of Delhi AQI today : Delhi had a 24-hour average AQI of 279, in the “poor” category, until 7:30 am on Monday. However, this was a significant change from the dangerous levels the city recorded last Sunday morning, when the AQI crossed 450 for the first time this season.

With an AQI of 347 (very poor category), Shadipur was the most polluted of Delhi’s 38 monitoring stations on Monday morning. Lodhi Road (IITM) station, as previously indicated, had the lowest AQI, at 95. The AQI was in the orange zone, or “poor,” category at the monitoring stations at RK Puram (275), Sirifort (267), Sri Aurobindo Marg (227), ITO (234) and IGI Airport (260).
AQI categories : A score of 0 to 50 is regarded as “good,” 51 to 100 as “satisfactory,” 101 to 200 as “moderate,” 201-300 as “poor,” 301 to 400 as “very poor,” 401 to 450 as “severe,” and the score of 450 or more as “severe plus.” According to CPCB data, PM2.5 was the main pollutant, with levels of 138 at 3 p.m.
GRAP restrictions : With the season’s highest average Air Quality Index of 495 recorded last Monday, the AQI has gotten even worse, requiring the city to apply Stage 4 limitations under the Supreme Court-mandated Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
Delhi weather forecast : Monday’s maximum and lowest temperatures are predicted by the IMD to be approximately 28 and 12 degrees Celsius, respectively, with moderate fog.
